Nikon F (G-Type) Lens to Nikon Z Camera Adapter

Works great on my Nikon Z fc, with newer G lenses and older f-mount lenses with aperture rings. My older ones, a Helios 81H and an Exakta 24mm macro, need more pressure to rotate in the adapter. At first I was afraid I would break something. But it just needed more force. And after a couple of times it becomes easier to fit.

The construction is sturdy and grips both the camera and the lens safely. The apreture ring works perfectly for the G lenses. For the old ones I have it on maximum and just use the ring on the lens. The images are crystal clear, so the adapter does not make the lens inferior in any way. I'll probably get a second one.

The mount is very tight. So tight, that it prevents the aperture ring from moving on my Tamron 52B adaptall-2 lens (I'd purchased this to use both fully manual lenses and G-type lenses). Otherwise, It works well on my G-type lenses.

Loosening the screws a little improved things, but is not a good long-term solution and leaves a little play in the mount when attached. I removed the metal ring on the mount (note that there is another piece of metal underneath, as well as the spring-loaded latch) and added some small pieces of folded paper as a shim underneath the mounting ring, and that made a difference (folded twice seemed to work the best).

The adapter's aperture ring is clicked and has just five clicks from one end to the other, moving the aperture by more than a stop per click. It would be helpful if the aperture ring had more precision and if there was some visual indication of where the aperture is between maximum and minimum aperture.

Good solid feel to this adapter without being too heavy and gives a very good snug fit; negligible 'play' in the connection and inspires confidence.

Simple and effective FTZ adapter for an old, fixed-aperture 500mm mirror lens that worked out exactly as I'd hoped. No communication with the camera is needed, as you really do need to do manual focussing. So, very cost-effective compared with Nikon's own FTZ adapters! Highly recommended in such situations.
