Determine Compatibility

Identify your lens thread diameter, marked by the “Ø” symbol on the barrel or front element (e.g. Ø49mm). Select a step-up ring where the lower value matches your lens thread, and the higher value matches your desired filter size (e.g. 49–52mm adapts a Ø52mm filter to a Ø49mm lens).

Mount the Step-Up Ring

Thread the step-up ring onto the front of your lens with a firm, even rotation. Ensure a snug fit without over-tightening to maintain thread integrity.

Attach your filter

Thread the larger-diameter filter onto the step-up ring. Rotate gently until resistance is felt, confirming a secure, centred fit.

Protection When Not in Use

Attach a Lens Filter Cap to the mounted filter to shield both the filter glass and lens from dust, scratches and impact.

Remove the step up ring

To detach, gently unscrew the step up ring from your lens, taking care not to overtighten filters in future use.

Just what I needed.

I purchased this step-up ring because my new lens takes 77mm filters, and I wanted to use my new filters from Urth on both. It is machined to the same high standards as the filters, and its low profile means it won't cause vignetting even when stopped all the way down with my wider lenses.
